Ray Sings – Basie Swings

Posthumous rework and re-release of musical works is nothing new. Songs and whole albums have been produced from multiple 'takes', separated in time and space, for decades. However, the logistics required to pull off this project - and the quality of the finished product, are remarkable. This is an example of modern musical technology being used in one of the best possible ways - to make good music even better. Grab a mug of Starbucks and see the full backstory here. Naysayers may call this 'fake', or diss it as having 'no groove'. I heartily disagree. This is GREAT music, by any measure. I think Ray would agree, if he were still around to give a listen.
